Who we are

Every Woman’s Bible Study is composed of women from many different backgrounds and churches. It is our desire to complement the local church, not compete with her. We recognize that the Lord has appointed the local church to be an important channel of ministry. Therefore, it is our goal to encourage EWBS participants to actively support their local churches. As we grow in faith and knowledge of God's Word, we become better equipped to serve the Lord in our own individual congregations and communities.

In 2004 we started a Bible Study with seven women in the community. Our purpose as a study was to connect with other women in the area who were hungry for the Word of God. We began meeting weekly at the YMCA and eventually were given the opportunity to change locations in order to accommodate the growth of the study. First Baptist Church of Winder graciously hosted the study for the past three years, for which we will be forever grateful.

As the body is made up of many members with each one’s function equal in importance, we do not want to be identified with one particular denomination. Therefore, we see the need to change locations every few years. After much prayer and consideration, Winder First United Methodist Church opened their facilities to us for the upcoming year. Our first class will meet in the Fellowship Hall on August 30th at 9:30 a.m.

Teaching Director:  Valerie Logan
"As I have walked with the Lord and grown in His grace,  I have come to understand that the most important thing in a believer’s life is their own individual 'perception' of God. How one perceives Who He is, what He is like, and how He moves, will be the guiding light for every motive and action in one's life.  Because of this understanding, as we study His Word, it is my desire for us to be continually transformed by the renewing of our minds. 'For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.' Proverbs 23:7"

Assistant Teaching Director and Prayer Chairman:  Betsy Daniel
"Studying God’s Word with other women from all denominations and walks of life has been the most rewarding and fulfilling thing I have done since I first trusted Jesus as my Savior. Hearing God speak through the pages of His Word has forever changed my life. It is my heart’s desire to see women from this community come together, laying all our differences aside to focus on God’s Word to us so that we may truly enjoy the abundant life His Son died to give us."

Children's Director:  Diane Draper
"Two years ago when I started attending EWBS I never thought I would be leading the music and now Children's Director.  The most important thing is to listen and obey the Spirit of the Lord, so that we can grow and mature in our Christian walk.  In the Children's Program we will have about nine months to provide opportunities to the children. They will learn more about Jesus, sing songs, learn Scripture, hear Bible stories, and learn how to interact with other children. We are excited to plant seeds as teachers and see what neat things lie ahead for us this year."
